Waterloo Sights & Sounds: A heritage project in SE1
Waterloo Sights & Sounds is a heritage project run by Coin Street Community Builders, and funded by Heritage Lottery Fund and Arts Council England.
Our project explores and documents the changes to the urban and social landscape in the Waterloo area of London SE1. We are focusing on images of the area, oral histories, audio description and soundscapes to build up a picture of the changing landscape.
There are talks, walks and workshops looking at archaeology, architecture and community involvement in the area. We have created an accessible digital media and project exhibition, which was shown at Waterloo Action Centre in September 2013, and at Morley Gallery in January 2014. The steering group will continue to develop the project so watch out for further plans!
